Our Communication and Personal Safety Skills Workshop for Countryside, Heritage and Recreation Sectors.

Safe and Sound explores the skills and knowledge that will enable you to confidently handle people who are being awkward, angry or aggressive. You will learn how to recognise circumstances where you may be at risk and how to successfully de-escalate the situation. Above all, you will learn how to keep yourself safe - both physically and mentally.

"Dave Barrett brings a wealth of experience, compassion and interpersonal skills that create a positive environment for learning, discussion and reflection.

The feedback from delegates has been overwhelmingly positive and I cannot recommend Dave and Turning Moment highly enough."

Head of Organisational Development

Dartmoor National Park Authority

“Dave clearly has huge amounts of knowledge and personal experience around the topic and is really good at breaking down topics into easy-to-understand bites.

Situations and examples, all relevant to our ranger role, combined with the tools, are a great way to increase our confidence in dealing with difficult situations.”

Cairngorms National Park Authority Ranger Service

“I think this course should be included in training of all new reserve staff and those who are public facing. Unlike a lot of courses, it was practical and to the point, with actual helpful tips for how to deal with conflict. I found it helpful to understand what we need to have in place for my team to be able to deal with common situations in their work.”
